Maths

Description: Last week we did a test to see what we need to work on, I got 32%, which means I need to practice more because I haven't improved since my last test.

Seed2Table Reflection

Description: Every Friday Troy's whanou class, go's to the hall with Elly and makes food for lunch and explores science.
I think that the soup could of had more flavour, but the bread was amazing and the pudding was the BEST, my experiment is ready, and I think that this will help the plants survive the Winter.

I would NOT want to be a mammoth hunter because, you would be forced to kill something innocent everyday. I would hate to be scared every day by my job, and chances are that you will die from hypothermia, which is a horrible way to die.

WALT: Organize our notes to make connections and find gaps

Feedback\Feedforward: Tabitha you have done really well at summarising and you have nearly filled up your tree wich means you have been to lots of different sites to gather this info!Next time you could find lots of different strategies to summarise because it doesn't seem like you did great in the first task.

Weather Inquiry Portfolio Sample

Description: This term poutama has been doing inquiry every Friday, Troy's class is doing weather, Elly's class is doing seed2table and Nic's class is doing The Moon, I am in Troy's class, Then we chose what we wanted to focus on, next we chose an experiment, around what we wanted to focus on, I was learning about the seasons and why they change, my experiment was to make dew and frost.
In the can on the left I put water and ice in the can on the right I put salt and Ice, to form dew on the left and frost on the right.

I think you did well except you could be a bit more specific on everything you talk about and in the post you could give a reasoning  to why you think seasons are different now compared to before when you knew nothing about it.

Japanese Portfolio Sample

Description: This term the year 6's are learning Japanese with Kelly, (room 5 teacher) every Thursday afternoon, I am really enjoying it and am passionate about Japan, we have learnt how to count to ten in Japanese and how to introduce ourselves.

Tabitha you are great and very fluent you are a quick learning and I can tell you are going to do great things with this there really is nothing I can see that you need to improve on except for practise!

Thanks for the feedback Bella, I think I am doing well, I can now introduce myself count to twenty and write my name in Japanese, and I am also practicing every day, I think I am on the right track to speacking fluent Japanese.

Spelling

Description: This term I took a spelling test to see if I knew all 300 essential words, I got only one wrong so I don't need to practice this in litracy.

Evaluation: I think that I did well and the word that I did get wrong I know, it was time pressure so I need towork on not being overwhelmed by time.

Maths Week 2

Description: Today I worked on my mixed, proper and improper fractions, I think that I know this know as knowledge and I don't need to work on this any more.

Description: Today in my workshop we were looking at descritive sentences, we had to recreate a sentence.

Handwriting

Description: Last week we had to write a poem to see if our handwriting was fast, legible and accurate,      then we rated our selves on a 1-4 basis, I ranked myself a three, but I would like to get a bit faster when I write.

Maths Week One

Description: Today for independent work I did some quizzes on fractions I worked on improper, proper and mixed fractions. 
Today in my workshop we looked at solving unit fractions of a set like

Solve the unit of a set.
e.g. 8 is 1/3 of ?

Solve the non-unit of a set.
e.g. 4 is 2/3 of ?

Evaluation: I think I know my proper and improper fractions but I need to work on my mixed fraction.

Graffiti Art

Description: One day last term my teacher Troy was sick, so we had a reliever in his name was Chris. The task was to make some grafiti art first we mastered the letters then we added features lastly we used paint to colour it in.
